Bradford City Council, our biggest project to date currently have 7 sites in operation with other projects due to start imminently; the main requirement within Bradford is to eliminate traffic within the city centre area. We have created a bespoke package which allows this whilst also permitting access for deliveries and emergency crew.

Macs automated Bollards have installed a number of automated bollards in strategic locations within the city centre, they operate 24/7 and are linked to the local CCTV control room, Bradford Council have supplied their own intercom units but do use Macs Automated Bollards unique fault monitoring systems, the bollards have been supplied in black paint finish in order to fit in with the existing street furniture.

The University of Plymouth asked Macs Automated Bollards to resolve an issue within one of it's newly refurnished areas of the campus. A configuration of one automatic rising bollard, together with a removable manual bollard and three static bollards was suggested as the ideal way of providing a controlled traffic zone in a part of the University campus which can have hundreds of students passing through every day.

Macs automated bollard systems have provided a well managed, safe and effective solution to this long standing issue.

Powys County Council constructed a new road to be used by a local bus service. Macs Automated Bollards created a restricted access bus route using one automatic rising bollard, we provided the local bus company with a tagmaster system which they were able to use to lower the automated bollard when required, the bollard was programmed to rise once the bus had cleared the safety loops which Macs Bollards have installed under the road. This has benefited the local community in that an isolated estate now has a bus service without creating a ‘rat run’ effect.

Kingston Borough Council required Macs Automated Bollards to install automatic rise and fall bollard systems with CCTV monitoring at 5 locations where vehicular traffic had become a problem, these were within the main shopping centre and pedestrian zones of this historic town centre, Kingston Borough Council can now control and monitor traffic flows through the MACS automated rising bollard system and are able to respond quickly to any technical faults with our inhouse designed remote access fault monitoring system. Kingston Borough Council have found that due to CCTV coverage maintenance costs are kept to a minimum as collision damage can be correctly attributed to the guilty party.
