Maintenance Costs and Procedures
Automatic Bollards as with all moving mechanical products that are subject to weather conditions it is critical that regular maintenance is up kept in order to maintain optimum levels of performance and to reduce the likelihood of mechanical failure.
Maintenance Procedure:
The standard six monthly maintenance procedure is as follows:
Cleaning of water drains located on the pit base
Cleaning and greasing of the central sliding rail
Testing of the lower beat gaskets
Testing of the handling piston for oil leaks
General testing of the pop-up elements screws for correct tightening
General cleaning of the driven cylinder and painting touch-ups, if needed
Testing of the hydraulic station, oil level top-ups
Test working pressure settings
Testing of safety pressure switch for correct operation
Operating Tests:
Incorporated flashing movement light for correct operation
Operation test on traffic light system and LEDs
Operation test all induction loops
Operation test of the power failure procedure
Operation test all access control commands
Sight check electronic handling management unit
Cost of maintenance agreement = £425.00 + vat per annum per bollard.
Emergency Call Out:
In the event of a system failure and an emergency call out initiated, a charge of
£395.00 incl 1st hour will be payable and £59.00 per hour per engineer thereafter, plus
parts and VAT.
Impact Damage Costs:
Macs Automated Bollards strongly recommend using some form of data capture equipment, by using either CCTV or VNPR you are able to correctly attribute blame and therefore all costs of repair to the insured driver in the event of collision damage. CCTV gives you the added benefit of being able to record footage of anyone attempting to vandalise the bollard.
